Leaping Hare, Summer Blue – Large box Frame
This handcrafted art piece was created using salvaged materials. Materials which have served their primary function are given a second life, and used to create colour and texture in the art piece.
The dashing hare is one of the UK countryside’s favourite rogues. Made by layering corrugated card to create depth, he is embellished with blue and green wallpaper and fabric collected from sample books, his eyes are recycled buttons, natural feathers for whiskers and machine sewn highlights to finish the effect.

This unusual marrying of materials highlights the value of the stuff we throw away everyday. The process is often called ‘creative reuse’ and aims to reduce the amount of valuable resources bound for landfill by giving them a second life and reducing their carbon footprint.
