Originating in the Highlands and Western Islands of Scotland. It is a hardy breed, able to withstand the intemperate conditions in the region.

This mixed media Cow was created using a variety of salvaged materials from recycled packaging to scraps of vintage fabric. Primarily made from corrugated cards, he is embellished with paper packaging, Harris Tweed or upholstery fabric, recycled buttons, and machine sewn highlights.
This unusual marrying of materials highlights the value of the stuff we throw away every day. The process is often called ‘creative reuse’ and aims to reduce the amount of valuable resources bound for landfill by giving them a second life.
